I’D BE SAFE AND WARM IF I WAS IN L.A.
Don’t we all dream of a little California on these cold winter days?
I am such an anti-winter person. I do love snowy winter days. I mean, I come from Austria which is a country known for its mountains. And I do love skiing so much and spending time outside on a sunny, beautiful and snowy winter day. Nothing beats being outside in a white nature, breathing in cold and fresh air. And also, nothing beats getting inside after spending your day in the cold, hiding under blankets and drinking some tea. Don’t get me wrong, winter is such a beautiful season, if it also looks like it and not just feels like it.
There’s nothing I hate more than grey and deathly cold days. I am originally from the most western part of Austria where we have many mountains. In my city we also have a big lake – the lake of constance – which is one of the biggest lakes in Europe. On a grey and foggy winterday those mountains are the perfect destination to escape to, because you will always get to see the sun. Due to the fact that the lake is my favourite place on earth, you can go walk there in every season. My hometown Bregenz never ever fails to amaze me.
Whereas Bregenz can be really beautiful in winter as well, Vienna can be such a pain in the neck in winter. Unfortunately snow is really rare in Vienna (even though it looks incredibly beautiful covered up with snow). Still, it’s one of the most beautiful cities I have ever seen – if you haven’t been here so far you definitely need to add Vienna to your bucket-list – buuut in winter it’s blowing really hard. And this wind is freaking cold. So you always have to bundle up in your warmest clothes to get through those days.
But well, I do not want to complain because I know that some people live in areas where it is -50º in winter. So I guess I am a really lucky girl to live in such a beautiful city and come from the most beautiful small town in the world.
By the way, those pictures were taken on a sunny “warmer” winter day some time ago. After 20 minutes I was almost frozen to death and we went home again. Gladly, you can’t see how cold I am.
My outfit was way too little for those temperatures but at least my favorite jacket kept me warm. I think the black leather jacket can be combined with almost everything. Whether it is just to pimp a really basic outfit or you combine it with something elegant to make the outfit look “badass”. It is definitely one of my favourite winter pieces this year. Also the short baby-doll dress with the silver roses on it is just adorable. You can either wear it to go to a club or fancy dinner with heels or overknees or during the day with some knit. I really like the combination of elegant stuff with leather pieces (both shoes or jackets). As you can see, I am wearing cowboy-like boots, a choker and safety pin earrings to make it look more like a “free-time look”. Besides that I thought that I could add a little colour to my black-addiction, so I went for a baby-pink bag.
